On January 11, 2024, Maumelle Police Department officers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in Maumelle, Arkansas. Upon arrival, officers encountered an individual who refused to cooperate with unknown commands. Police escalated a standoff involving MPD and Arkansas State Police, during which police opened fire and killed the man. The circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
