On November 7, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to 61 Ridge Road in Union Township, Pennsylvania, for a reported violation of a protection-from-abuse order. During the response, Andrew Dzwonchyk, a 40-year-old white male, arrived at the scene in his vehicle. When troopers attempted to arrest him, a struggle occurred. Dzwonchyk allegedly drove his vehicle toward and dragged a trooper. In response, troopers opened fire, fatally shooting Dzwonchyk. The Pennsylvania State Police are handling the case and internal self investigation.
