OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On January 13, 2025, at approximately 9:52 a.m., officers from the Country Club Hills Police Department responded to a vehicle crash near West Florissant Avenue and Lucas and Hunt Road in St. Louis County. The male driver was reported to be firing a weapon at passing vehicles. St. Louis County police officers arrived to assist and observed the individual walking westbound on West Florissant Avenue while firing a handgun with an extended magazine. Police engaged him in a shootout. He was later struck by a police vehicle at the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and Ferguson Avenue. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The incident is under internal investigation by St. Louis County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons detectives.
