OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
An Ashtabula deputy observed a female he was familiar with from past incidents while on a routine patrol at the Pilot gas station on Route 45. He knew she had warrants. He approached her and she provided him with a false name. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the woman who was a passenger in a vehicle in on the entrance ramp to I-90 East. The woman fled on foot and the officer began chasing. The deputy alleged that she assaulted him and then ran back to her vehicle and took off at a fast speed. The deputy escalated a chase which reached 100 mph and continued until she rolled the vehicle at the Route 11 exit. She was ejected and died.
