OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On July 29, 2024, 46-year-old inmate Michael Rosas was found unresponsive in his cell at the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas. A booking deputy conducting face-to-face observation checks discovered Rosas lying against his cell door and immediately initiated life-saving measures. Additional deputies, jail medical personnel, and San Antonio Fire Department crews responded, but Rosas was pronounced dead at 1:04 p.m. Authorities believe he suffered a medical episode prior to his death. Rosas had been incarcerated on charges including possession of a controlled substance (1-4 grams) and evading arrest. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death. The Bexar County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office is leading the death investigation, with the BCSO Internal Affairs Unit conducting an administrative review.
