A woman reported being assaulted before the man retreated into a nearby home. Officers attempted to make contact but heard a gunshot. SWAT was deployed, and a standoff ensued. On 03/04/2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m. CST, Fairfield Glade Police Department officers were searching for Jody Tollet, a 42-year-old male from Crab Orchard, Tennessee, in connection with a reported domestic incident. An officer located Tollet's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but Tollet fled. Police escalated a pursuit that ended in the 9000 block of Peavine Road, where Tollet exited his vehicle armed with a handgun and fired at the officer, striking the patrol vehicle's windshield. The officer returned fire, fatally wounding Tollet. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.

On 03/04/2025, FBI SWAT agents located Myles Owens V at a residence on Ben Hill Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Owens was wanted on federal charges such as possession of an unregistered firearm, drug trafficking, and drug possession. Additionally, he had 20 outstanding failure-to-appear charges in Davidson County and Williamson County.
After making announcements for Owens to surrender, agents entered the residence and found him in the garage inside a stolen Infiniti sedan with a gunshot wound to his head and a firearm at his side. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The incident is being investigated as a suspected suicide.
During a search of the residence, authorities recovered 70 pounds of marijuana, nearly $50,000 in cash, jewelry, and two firearms.

On 03/04/2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Hawaii Island police responded to a residence on Hibiscus Street in Mountain View after a woman reported that her daughter's ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Isaiah Kaleo JiaanFourshey, had arrived looking for her daughter. After being informed that his ex-girlfriend was not present, Fourshey allegedly fired multiple shots at the woman's husband, missing him, before fleeing the scene. Shortly thereafter, police received reports of a shooting at a nearby residence on Plumeria Street, where they found 25-year-old Latisha Soares, identified as Fourshey's ex-girlfriend, with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene. A manhunt ensued, and at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers located Fourshey near the Namakanipaio Campground off Highway 11 in Volcano.During the attempted apprehension, Fourshey was shot by police. He was transported to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:00 p.m.

On 03/04/2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Clinton Police Department officers responded to a shots fired call at an apartment complex near South 28th Street and West Hayes Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 32-year-old Jesse Mendoza with a gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation identified 28-year-old Joseph Tyler Layton as the shooter, leading to the issuance of a felony arrest warrant. Around 6:00 p.m. the same day, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers located Layton in Clinton and initiated a traffic stop. During the encounter, Layton was shot by troopers. He was reported the armed.

On 03/04/2025, Jessie Kirk, 72, was reported missing after failing to show up for her routine morning walk in Titusville, Florida. A friend reported her missing, and Titusville Police began searching for her. Officers found David Armstrong Barber, 35, a former Brevard County corrections deputy, near Kirk’s condominium. He exhibited suspicious behavior and had recent burn injuries. Later that day, Kirk's vehicle was found burned near State Road 50 and State Road 520 in Orange County. Kirk’s burned body was discovered near the Haulover Canal in north Brevard County. Following the incident, the shooter fled. Later that morning, Seattle Police officers located his vehicle in the 10700 block of 27th Avenue South. As officers approached, they heard a gunshot and discovered him deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The caller reported a man was beating on their door while armed. Upon arrival, officers located an open door and encountered 62-year-old Nick Raymond Bingham, who emerged holding an AR-15-style rifle. Three officers opened fire, striking him. On 02/28/2025, Glendora Police officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 39 near East Fork Road in the San Gabriel Canyon area that matched the description connected to a February 25 drive-by shooting on U.S. Highway 6 in Mineral County, Nevada, where police said a semi-truck driver was shot in the leg and survived. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist. Police identified the driver as Christian Castellon, 29, of Panorama City. When deputies arrived, Castellon drove away and police initiated a short pursuit along Highway 39. After the vehicle stopped, officers reported that Castellon moved inside the vehicle and then raised a handgun. Police said he shot himself inside the vehicle as deputies approached. Officers recovered a firearm from the vehicle. Paramedics transported Castellon to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. On 02/28/2025, Kansas City Police officers located 43-year-old George C. Manning on Vivion Road near Waukomis Drive following an overnight multi-location shooting and child abduction investigation in Platte County. Earlier that morning, police said Manning shot and killed a woman at a Riverside car wash, then went to a residence in unincorporated Platte County where police said he shot and killed a 12-year-old boy and shot an adult woman who survived. Police issued an AMBER Alert for a 5-year-old girl taken from the residence. Authorities located the child safe at a relative’s home several hours later.
Around 7:30 a.m., Kansas City Police officers encountered Manning on foot. Police said he had a handgun. Officers fired their weapons and struck Manning. Officers recovered a firearm at the location. Manning died from gunshot wounds. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting by police.

On 02/21/2025 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Clay County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call from a rural Harvard residence reporting a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies located 35-year-old Heather Gray deceased from multiple gunshot wounds inside the home. Officers found 39-year-old Toby Gray outside the residence suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Three young children were present in the home at the time; they were unharmed and taken into protective care. Law enforcement transported Gray to Aurora Memorial Hospital and later flew him to Bryan Health West Campus in Lincoln for treatment. He was in custody and charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony in connection with Heather Gray’s death. On the morning of 02/28/2025, Nebraska State Patrol officials stated that Gray was pronounced deceased at the hospital from his self-inflicted injuries. On 02/26/2025, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported arson at a residence on the 8700 block of Scott Street in Rosemead. Deputies located 56-year-old Susan Lu outside the residence. She went back inside and did not comply with deputies’ attempts to contact her. A Mental Evaluation Team and negotiators remained on scene for several hours attempting communication.
Detectives obtained a search and arrest warrant related to an alleged assault involving fire. Shortly after midnight on 02/27/2025, deputies entered the residence to serve the warrant. Inside the home, Susan Lu was holding a meat cleaver. Deputies issued commands for her to drop it and deployed a 40 mm less-lethal launcher. Deputy Gregory Chico then fired their service weapons, striking her.
Deputies requested medical assistance. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
In July 2025, Lu’s family filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit alleging she was experiencing a mental health crisis and that deputies used unnecessary deadly force during the warrant service.

Around 9 p.m. on February 27, 2025, deputies from the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 200 block of Whippoorwill Street in Apache after a 911 caller reported that someone had been shot at while driving through the area. Officials with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) said deputies knocked on the door and announced their presence. When Dylan Oakley Lushbough opened the door, he was holding a firearm and pointed it toward deputies. OSBI reported that Lushbough then rushed toward the deputies. In response, deputies fired their weapons, striking him. Deputies and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures but Lushbough was pronounced dead at the location.
