On January 18, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office (JPSO) responded to a 911 call from a 13-year-old girl reporting that her father had shot her mother and siblings at their residence on Stephen Drive in River Ridge, Louisiana. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 40-year-old Dung Pham and her 2-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne, deceased in the hallway from gunshot wounds. Two other children were found injured: a 13-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to her ankle and a 9-year-old girl in critical condition who underwent emergency surgery, with the outcome unknown. Deputies located 46-year-old Glenn Bohne Jr. armed in a back bedroom. When he produced a firearm, deputies fired upon him, resulting in his death at the scene. This critical incident is being investigated by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. On 01/18/2025, at approximately 2:27 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers initiated a pursuit of a motorcyclist traveling at high speed southbound on the 57 Freeway from the 210 Freeway. The driver exited the freeway and continued at high speed on surface streets in Fullerton, California. At the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street, the motorcyclist collided head-on with a pickup truck. The impact ejected the man onto the roadway. CHP officers arrived moments later. The Fullerton Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital; their condition is currently unknown. Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street were closed for an extended period during the investigation. CHP is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Fullerton Police Department.

The theft was discovered around 7:00 a.m. when employees arrived.California Highway Patrol officers located the stolen vehicle around 8:30 a.m. near Clements and pursued Hernandez into Calaveras County. A chase ensued, but officers lost sight of the vehicle due to Hernandez's erratic driving. Around 10:00 a.m., Hernandez attempted to carjack a homeowner on Buena Vista Court in Jenny Lind. The homeowner refused and contacted 911, prompting Hernandez to flee into the nearby Calaveras River Canyon, armed with the stolen firearms and wearing the bulletproof vest.

Overnight, deputies used a drone to deliver a cell phone and food to Hernandez, attempting to negotiate his surrender. Despite these efforts, Hernandez remained uncooperative. On January 15, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Hernandez fired at responding law enforcement officers. Police opened fire and killed him at the location. Four deputies were placed on administrative leave.

On 01/15/2025, officers attempted to stop a black Kia Sportage for a traffic violation near the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. The driver, 18-year-old Jalen Anthony Young, and the passenger, believed to be 17-year-old Nyair Raymond, fled on foot. Young was apprehended, but Raymond escaped and has been missing since. Three days later, Raymond's phone was found near the bridge, and his jacket was discovered submerged in the Anacostia River about a week and a half later. On January 13, 2025, at approximately 9:52 a.m., officers from the Country Club Hills Police Department responded to a vehicle crash near West Florissant Avenue and Lucas and Hunt Road in St. Louis County. The male driver was reported to be firing a weapon at passing vehicles. St. Louis County police officers arrived to assist and observed the individual walking westbound on West Florissant Avenue while firing a handgun with an extended magazine. Police engaged him in a shootout. He was later struck by a police vehicle at the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and Ferguson Avenue. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The incident is under internal investigation by St. Louis County Police Department's Crimes Against Persons detectives.

On January 12, 2025, Upland Police Department officers responded to a 911 call from Steven Espinoza's sister, reporting that he was under the influence of fentanyl and had a knife. Upon learning that officers were en route, Espinoza exited the apartment located in the 1300 block of West Foothill Boulevard and drove away.Less-lethal measures, including a 40 mm launcher, were fired. Espinoza continued reaching into his waistband. Officers opened fire and killed him. Espinoza was identified as a known affiliate of the Black Angels gang.The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is conducting an independent investigation.
