OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

An Aurora PD officer chased after several teens who had stolen a vape pen canister. The group reportedly fled but the deputy caught Jor’Dell Richardson after a foot pursuit. Police allege that he was holding onto a "gun." Video proves that instead, police shot and killed him while he had his arms in the air, saying "you got me." He had only a pellet gun on him and was functionally unarmed when officer Roch Gruszeczka shot and killed him.

Police investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing and cleared themselves by Internal Investigation announced on 10/11/2023.
