On June 22, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM, detention officers at the Turner County Jail, located at 1301 Randall H. Whiddon Drive, Ashburn, Georgia, found Randall "Kraig" Bobo, a 44-year-old white male, unresponsive in his cell during a routine check. The man was pronounced dead in the cell. He had been arrested on June 7, 2024, on several drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession and use of drug-related objects. He had spent 15 days in custody before his death. According to the Turner County Sheriff's Office, no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the official cause and manner of death.
