On February 18, 2021, Juan Carter Hernandez was allegedly assaulting 24-year-old Chyna Cardena with a blunt instrument at 524 South New Castle Street in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Police ordered Hernandez to stop, but he continued the assault. An officer then shot and killed Hernandez. Cardena later died from her injuries.
