Event : Motorcycle driver killed by police chase crash
OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 01/18/2025, at approximately 2:27 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers initiated a pursuit of a motorcyclist traveling at high speed southbound on the 57 Freeway from the 210 Freeway. The driver exited the freeway and continued at high speed on surface streets in Fullerton, California. At the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street, the motorcyclist collided head-on with a pickup truck. The impact ejected the suspect onto the roadway. CHP officers arrived moments later and, upon receiving no response from the suspect, began CPR. The Fullerton Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital; their condition is currently unknown. Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street were closed for an extended period during the investigation. CHP is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Fullerton Police Department.
