On September 29, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 43-year-old Bobby Aguilar was found unresponsive in a cell at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Aguilar was pronounced dead by responding San Antonio Fire Department personnel. Preliminary indications suggest that Aguilar suffered a medical episode; however, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death. Aguilar had been incarcerated since March 2024 on multiple charges following his arrest by the San Antonio Police Department. The exact duration of his incarceration was approximately seven months. In accordance with the Sandra Bland Act, the Bexar County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office is leading the death investigation, while the Bexar County Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs Unit is conducting an administrative review.
