OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 10/29/2024, 40-year-old Issa Niambele was found unresponsive in a holding cell at the Mendocino County Jail during a routine safety check. Corrections, jail, and fire personnel administered lifesaving efforts, successfully regaining a pulse. Niambele was then transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley hospital for emergency care. Despite these efforts, he was pronounced dead at 12:14 a.m. on 10/30/2024. The cause and manner of Niambele's death are pending official determination by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy-Coroner
