OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Just after midnight, police responded to a welfare check call at a home. A female caller indicated that Roberto Acosta-Reyes was armed with a handgun and feared he would harm her and then himself. Officers arrived and encountered Acosta-Reyes outside the home, pacing around a vehicle. Despite attempts to negotiate, Acosta-Reyes allegedly pointed the handgun at himself multiple times before directing it at officers. Officers responded by shooting and killing him.
