OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Two Canyon Police officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation around 12:30 a.m. After discovering warrants connected to the driver, they asked Michael Deanthony Andrews to step out of the vehicle. Andrews fled the scene, leading police on a pursuit. The chase ended when Andrews crashed into a parked car in the Valley View Apartments parking lot. He then fled on foot into the apartments, where he reportedly shot at one of the pursuing officers. Police did not return fire, and Andrews was later found dead after officials entered the apartment.
