On July 27, 2023 at around 2 p.m., Groves Police officers arrived at the 2800 block of Main St. in Groves for reports of David Guilbeau behaving erratically and in possession of a handgun. Police allege that the 60-year-old man waved a weapon. Police shot and killed him. His family was surprised at the mental health disturbance with erratic behavior and reported that he was a nonviolent positive person.
