On February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Pomona Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a gunman chasing two individuals near the intersection of Murchison Avenue and Stratus Drive in Pomona, California. Upon arrival, officers encountered a person matching the description provided. According to Lt. Michael Modica of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, the individual produced a firearm, leading to an officer-involved shooting. The individual, identified as Isaac Cannon, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding fire paramedics. A handgun was recovered from the scene. Family members stated that Isaac Cannon was the victim of a robbery and was pursuing the suspects involved prior to police arrival. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau is assisting in the investigation.
