Jon Dru Casey, a 64-year-old male, was brought to the Adams County Detention Facility on September 7, 2023, at 10:39 PM, on an active arrest warrant. During the booking process, medical staff noted he required a wheelchair due to a medical condition. After intake, while awaiting release on bond, deputies found him unresponsive in his wheelchair at 11:57 PM. He was pronounced dead at 12:05 AM on September 8, 2023. An autopsy revealed a 2.5 cm by 2.5 cm object in his throat containing multiple pills suspected to be fentanyl.
