OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Around 9 p.m. on February 27, 2025, deputies from the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 200 block of Whippoorwill Street in Apache after a 911 caller reported that someone had been shot at while driving through the area. Officials with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) said deputies knocked on the door and announced their presence. When Dylan Oakley Lushbough opened the door, he was holding a firearm and pointed it toward deputies. OSBI reported that Lushbough then rushed toward the deputies. In response, deputies fired their weapons, striking him. Deputies and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures but Lushbough was pronounced dead at the location. No other injuries were reported. The OSBI took over the investigation of the shooting. No bodycam footage was made available.
