On March 2, 2025, an off-duty Boston police officer shot and killed a man inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Copley Square, Boston. Police reported the man had been chasing two individuals into the restaurant while armed with a knife. The off-duty officer intervened and opened fire, killing the man. Authorities have not disclosed the name of the deceased or the officer involved. The case is under investigation.
