Adams County deputies drove up to the Lakeside Motel as Mario Ortega was parking a vehicle. The officer got out of his vehicle pointing a gun and Ortega is seen pointing an object, possibly a gun, only at his own head. The deputy shot and killed him. His family alleges that he was no danger to the officer and the shooting was unnecessary.
