Asheville PD were called to a domestic violence event and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head outside of the home. Gregory Wayne Holden was apparently locked inside of the apartment. Police created a standoff and used drones to enter the apartment. They found Holden dead from suicide.

On July 6, 2024, at approximately 9:06 p.m., deputies from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office conducted a welfare check at a residence in the 57000 block of Pendleton Drive in Elkhart, Indiana. The check was prompted by concerns for 37-year-old Ryan Snyder and his two children, 2-year-old Jaxon Snyder and a 4-year-old girl. Deputies discovered Snyder inside the home, reportedly armed, and threatening to harm his children and law enforcement officers.

At approximately 12:09 a.m. on July 7, the Elkhart County Regional SWAT Team arrived to secure the scene and establish communication with Snyder. Snyder refused to exit the residence, discharged a firearm, and barricaded himself inside. The Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team later arrived to assist in managing the standoff.

After prolonged efforts to resolve the situation peacefully, the Emergency Response Team entered the home around 3:30 p.m. on July 7. Snyder was taken into custody without further incident. Tragically, officers discovered Jaxon Snyder deceased in the residence. The 4-year-old girl was found unharmed and was released to a relative after being evaluated on the scene. It is not known how he died.

On July 8, 2024, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to reports of a group of young males displaying firearms in downtown Indianapolis. Upon arrival, officers observed the individuals placing the firearms into a parked vehicle. As officers approached, a foot pursuit ensued.

IMPD's Real Time Crime Center later identified a man entering the driver's seat of the same vehicle with a visible firearm. Two other juveniles, including 17-year-old Terryoun Mays, were passengers. Officers attempted a traffic stop once the vehicle exited the downtown area. Initially, the driver complied by pulling over, but then drove away. Officers pursued the vehicle until they lost visual contact and "called off the chase", pulling over to a complete stop.

Approximately three minutes later, officers discovered the vehicle overturned in the 2600 block of Brill Road. The driver and two passengers, including Mays, sustained critical injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Mays died from his injuries.

IMPD's Certified Accident Investigators responded to the scene. A search of the vehicle revealed two firearms, a drum-style magazine, and several bullets. The investigation is ongoing, with findings to be reviewed by the appropriate authorities.

On 07/07/2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., a Michigan State Police trooper observed two motorcycles traveling at high speeds northbound on Old U.S. 23 near Loch Lomond Road in Brighton Township. The motorcycles appeared to be racing. As the trooper attempted to turn around to initiate a traffic stop, one of the motorcycles, a 2006 Yamaha FZ6-S operated by a 20-year-old male from South Lyon, collided with a Dodge Caravan driven by an 86-year-old Brighton woman who was making a left turn onto Loch Lomond Road from southbound Old U.S. 23.

The collision impacted the passenger side door of the van, resulting in the deaths of the motorcyclist and a 64-year-old female passenger from Fenton in the van. The second motorcyclist did not stop and fled the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.

On July 6, 2024, a Sherburne County Sheriff's Deputy initiated a pursuit of a stolen 2017 Ram pickup truck on Highway 10 in Becker, Minnesota. The driver failed to stop, leading to a high-speed chase with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The pursuit continued into the city of Becker, where the fleeing vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 10 and Liberty Lane, colliding with a Toyota Camry driven by 36-year-old Christopher Vyskocil. On July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., officers from Westerly Police Department spotted Joseph Francis, 45, driving a black Chevrolet Suburban on Route 1 North near the intersection of Route 78. Despite multiple attempts to stop him, Francis evaded law enforcement.

At 11:36 a.m., officers from the Richmond and Charlestown Police Departments attempted to stop Francis again on Route 2 North in Charlestown. During the pursuit, Francis drove west on Dawley Park Road at a high rate of speed. He missed the turn at the intersection of Dawley Park Road and Nooseneck Hill Road, causing his vehicle to roll over and come to rest on its roof in the woods.

Considering Francis to be armed and dangerous, officers maintained their positions until the Rhode Island State Police Tactical Team confirmed the scene was safe. Upon approach, they found Francis deceased inside the vehicle. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Pleasant Prairie Police initiated a high-speed chase of an allegedly stolen Lexus that ended when the vehicle collided with an SUV. The driver of the Lexus was killed and the passenger of the bystander vehicle was critically injured with survival unknown. On July 5, 2024, Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers observed a blue Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by 45-year-old Mark Johns of Brunswick, traveling at high speed northbound on GA 23. Troopers initiated a traffic stop for speeding. Johns did not stop, and the trooper escalated the chase through a red light at the intersection of GA 23 and GA 520. While attempting to pass another vehicle, the motorcycle clipped the vehicle's side mirror, causing Johns to lose control.
