Theodore Maurice Bunting, 37, was found unresponsive around 9:00 p.m. on April 3, 2025, inside a housing unit at the Wyandotte County Detention Center. Detention officers performed CPR until EMS arrived, but Bunting was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances of his death.
