Around 1:18 a.m. on April 6, 2025, a Fort Wayne police officer attempted to stop a vehicle near East State Boulevard and Hobson Road. The driver refused to stop. Police escalated a pursuit. Moments later, the driver crashed the vehicle into a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Police have not released the man's name or any identifying information.
