OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 15, 2025, Painesville police responded to a residence near Hayer Drive and West Jackson Street after a woman was found injured outside her home. She was transported to the hospital and provided information that led officers to call in a SWAT team to create a standoff. Upon entering the home, authorities discovered a man and a woman deceased inside. The man appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
