OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On February 8, 2025, 36-year-old Miguel Bustillos of Longmont, Colorado, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Downtown Detention Center in Denver. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined that Bustillos died from an intracranial hemorrhage caused by methamphetamine toxicity. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner ruled his death an accident. Bustillos had been booked into the jail on February 7, 2025, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and trespassing. The incident is under investigation by the Denver Sheriff Department.
