OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On April 23, 2025, Milton police responded to a report of smoke at 78 Main Street. Upon arrival, 38-year-old Aaron LaRoche opened fire, striking Sgt. Paul Locke twice—once in the leg and once in his bullet-resistant vest. Locke was hospitalized and later released. LaRoche barricaded himself inside his apartment. Police deployed flash-bang devices and a drone, which revealed LaRoche deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers discharged their weapons during the incident.
