On 01/02/2025, Raymond Mills, a 41-year-old inmate at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was found unconscious at approximately 8:15 a.m. Medical staff attempted to revive him for 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead. An autopsy revealed that Mills died from acute methamphetamine toxicity after a concealed bag of drugs ruptured inside his body.
