In the early morning hours of July 30, 2025, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department pursued a stolen vehicle occupied by juveniles. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of South Grand Boulevard and Taft Avenue. Several teenagers fled the scene, and a 16-year-old male pedestrian ran into the street, where he was fatally struck by a police SUV responding to the chase. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation.

Kahn then stabbed two officers, inflicting significant injuries. Oregon State Police troopers arrived to assist. During the arrest, a Springfield officer fatally shot Kahn. Officers administered emergency care, but Kahn died at the scene despite life-saving measures.
Nearby residents described the scene—one witness saw approximately 10–15 officers run toward a car wash after hearing what they believed were gunshots. Another noted a person standing in the street before a chase began. Deputies responded to reports of a man in black carrying a long gun in the Brindaban Forest subdivision on July 27, 2025. Paul Scott Wier allegedly entered a neighboring home and shot and killed two people. Deputies from the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office arrived and exchanged gunfire with Wier. On the evening of July 26, 2025, Ligonier Valley police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Route 30 and Baywood Road. Upon arrival, officers located Jeffrey J. Sierocky seated inside a vehicle. As officers advanced toward the car, additional gunfire emanated from within.
When the vehicle fell silent, officers approached. They discovered Sierocky had taken his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau is handling the formal investigation. The department is reviewing dash-camera footage, responding officers’ accounts, and ballistic evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events and ensure all actions were in accordance with police procedures.

Nelson, who had multiple active warrants and had reportedly brandished a firearm earlier that day, fled on foot into nearby bushes. During the pursuit, Nelson fired a .45 caliber handgun at deputies. Deputies returned fire and fatally shot him. Nelson was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Three deputies involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) issued a Blue Alert warning the public and circulated photos of McCarn described as armed and dangerous. He was confirmed deceased at the scene. Upon arrival, Ryan Kade Delahunt allegedly brandished a sharp weapon and lunged toward officers. Two officers discharged their firearms, striking Delahunt. Life-saving efforts were immediately initiated, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Delahunt was a 33-year-old resident of Spring, Texas.
