OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 05/01/2025, the Tri-City SWAT team, comprising officers from the Berryville, Eureka Springs, and Green Forest Police Departments, attempted to serve search and arrest warrants for 44-year-old Jeremy Coyle at his residence in the 13000 block of Highway 187 in Eureka Springs. The warrants were related to sexual assault charges. Coyle did not comply with orders to exit the home, prompting officers to enter the residence. Inside, Coyle reportedly pointed a firearm at officers, leading one officer to discharge his service weapon, striking Coyle. Paramedics rendered emergency medical treatment, but Coyle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident, and the case file will be submitted to the Carroll County Prosecutor to determine whether the use of deadly force was consistent with Arkansas law.
