On May 17, 2025, around 11:00 p.m., San Diego Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the Grant Hill neighborhood. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase that ended in the 2800 block of Imperial Avenue in Logan Heights when the vehicle crashed. One male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and another occupant was hospitalized with injuries.
