OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On May 21, 2025, at approximately 7:41 p.m., a correctional officer at the Milwaukee County Jail found Gabriel Muniz-Jimenez who appeared to be unconscious and in medical distress. Muniz-Jimenez was pronounced dead at 8:19 p.m. He had been in custody since November 2024 on a felony methamphetamine possession charge. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has listed the cause of death as undetermined. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is conducting an independent investigation into the incident.
