Police responded to reports of a man threatening people with a bat in Spring Branch. A security guard said the man had charged him earlier in the day and had returned. Officers found the man near Wirt Road and Hammerly Boulevard. They gave multiple commands in English and Spanish to drop the bat. The man picked up a chunk of concrete and threatened officers. A Taser was deployed. One officer opened fire and killed him. The man was described as Latino and in his 50s. Investigation is ongoing.
