NARRATIVE:
On 03/25/2021 at approximately 11:45 a.m., Prattville Police Department officers attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 82. Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson said the driver accelerated away from officers, and police pursued at high speed. The department did not publicly disclose what prompted the attempted traffic stop.

The pursuit continued on Highway 82 before the driver lost control and crashed between Doster Road Cutoff and Washington Ferry Road. Two occupants of the vehicle were injured and transported to a hospital.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency took over investigation of the pursuit crash. The contemporaneous WSFA report did not identify either occupant, the pursuing officers, the speeds reached during the pursuit, or the circumstances immediately preceding the loss of control.
