On April 24, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., North Andover police responded to a 911 call reporting that 36-year-old Sean Robert DeAdder was armed and experiencing a mental health crisis at his residence on Waverly Road. Upon arrival, DeAdder fired at responding officers, injuring one officer with metal shards from a bullet striking a cruiser. The officer sustained minor injuries.

The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) SWAT team was deployed to the home. DeAdder locked himself inside the home, continuing to fire from both the front and rear windows. After several hours, he was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On April 25, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Anaheim Police Department officers responded to a shooting at the Tyrol Plaza Senior Apartments on State College Boulevard. The victim, 59-year-old Ana Monterrosa, the apartment complex manager, was fatally shot multiple times by 67-year-old resident Brian Lawrence in the leasing office. After the shooting, Lawrence barricaded himself inside his third-floor apartment. In response, the APD deployed its SWAT team, evacuated surrounding residents, and initiated a standoff.

Negotiators attempted to communicate with Lawrence, but after approximately six hours, at 9:30 p.m., SWAT members breached the apartment and discovered Lawrence dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident was classified as a murder-suicide, with the motive still under investigation.

On April 25, 2024, officers from the Valparaiso Police Department and Porter County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a man displaying a handgun near Fairgrounds Park in Valparaiso, Indiana. Officers located 20-year-old Caden Joel Mura near the Butterfield Pavilion.

When approached, Mura fled on foot toward Calumet Avenue. During the pursuit, Mura allegedly fired at the officers, who returned fire. The chase continued to a residence on Valparaiso Street, where Mura reportedly raised his handgun at officers. Officers then opened fire, incapacitating him.

Officers administered first aid until paramedics arrived. Mura was transported to Northwest Health Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Arlington PD received a call about a stabbing in which Michael Bassey identified himself as "Michelangelo" and said he had stabbed someone named Michael because Michael talked too much. Police arrived and saw Bassey with a knife running from an apartment, shot and tased him several times and found him to be dead from an abdominal gunshot wound when they handcuffed him. There had been no stabbing victim and the man apparently was suffering a mental health episode and made various nonsensical statements including about a stabbing which had not happened.

On 04/24/2024, Trent A. Paschal, a 24-year-old male, was found deceased from a gunshot wound at the East Dubuque Boat Ramp on Boat Ramp Rd in East Dubuque, Illinois. Paschal reportedly died from suicide under police duress while inside his vehicle.

The impact propelled Rojas over 100 feet, causing fatal injuries. Smith's vehicle continued, colliding with multiple vehicles and a telephone pole before overturning. On April 23, 2024, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies escorted Jacob Henson, 31, to Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, Georgia, for treatment following injuries he sustained in a stabbing at Washington State Prison earlier that day. While Henson was under police supervision in the hospital, an officer used pepper spray during an interaction. A second officer, present at the scene, discharged her firearm, fatally shooting Henson.

On April 20, 2024, a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper initiated a high-speed pursuit of a stolen Honda CRV occupied by four teenagers—Lawrence McClendon Jr. (17), Jabril Cheevers (16), Teleak Roberts (15), and Philemon Moore (14)—on State Road 24 near U.S. 301 in Waldo, Florida. The vehicle was detected by an ALPR license plate reader.

As troopers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle initially slowed but then accelerated due to the pursuit, reaching speeds up to 111 mph. The FHP trooper executed a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to roll over and collide with a concrete utility pole at high speed. Two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two died from their injuries at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

On 04/20/2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Ada County Sheriff's Deputy Tobin Bolter conducted a traffic stop near W. Overland Road and S. Raymond Street in Boise. As Deputy Bolter approached the vehicle, the driver, identified as 65-year-old Dennis Mulqueen, shot him through the driver's side window. Mulqueen then fled the scene. Responding officers located Mulqueen's abandoned vehicle near S. Dorian Street and W. Roosevelt Street. A perimeter was established, and after an hour of failed negotiations, the Boise Police Department's Special Operations Unit advanced on Mulqueen's position. Mulqueen fired at the officers, striking a tactical shield. Detective Josh Sontag returned fire, hitting Mulqueen twice. Mulqueen was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Bonner County Prosecuting Attorney reviewed the incident and determined that Detective Sontag's use of deadly force was justified under Idaho law.
