OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Polk County deputies responded to reports of an erratic man at a RaceTrac station off SR 37. Timothy Schultz was chased by deputies on foot, swam across a lake known for alligators, and was reportedly bitten by an alligator. He exited at West Lake Clark Court, picked up garden shears and attempted to get into a vehicle. Deputies tased him twice and Schultz got into a patrol vehicle and tried to take a gun. Deputies opened fire and killed him.
