OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On the morning of April 3, 2025, officers from the Chico Police Department responded to a distress call reporting a woman being taken against her will in the 2700 block of Eaton Road. Upon locating the vehicle near State Route 32 and Meridian Road, officers attempted a traffic stop. The officers escalated the situation into a high-speed pursuit through Chico. The pursuit concluded in the 400 block of East 5th Avenue, where the vehicle came to a stop. Officers approached the vehicle using an armored rescue vehicle. Inside, they found two occupants, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The female passenger, Athena Marie Passidakis, 21, a Chico State University student, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver, Alvin Almontelasha Wilson, 25, also died at the scene. Investigations revealed that Wilson had kidnapped Passidakis at gunpoint and shot her while driving before turning the gun on himself.
