OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Deputies responded to a domestic violence call in the Briggs area near U.S. 62 and found a 74-year-old woman severely beaten. The alleged attacker, a 34-year-old female relative, was armed with a sharp object and found in a bedroom. After refusing repeated commands to disarm and making a sudden movement toward a deputy, the deputy opened fire, striking her in the upper body. She was taken to a hospital and later died. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation. The deputy was placed on administrative leave.
