On May 28, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence near Gary Road and Skyline Drive in San Tan Valley. Upon arrival, a confrontation ensued between the deputies and a male individual in his 20s. During the encounter, a single deputy opened fire, fatally striking the man. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased has not been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
