OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Miami-Dade PD arrived at an attempted robbery and were given the description of a vehicle of the man who had tried to take a purse. Police chased what they believed to be the correct vehicle. The vehicle took off and crashed into a tree, killing the driver. Family of the deceased gathered at the site and expressed dismay and confusion, stating they believed police had chased the wrong car because the man who had been killed was a citizen who they were certain would not rob people. To date, it has not been clarified whether police had possibly chased and killed someone other than their intended target.
