OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 20, 2023, around 4:50 p.m., New Jersey State Police Detective Mark Campagna, off duty and driving an unmarked vehicle, chased a motorcycle at over 100 mph on Route 206 in Springfield Township. The officer did not activate lights or sirens. After about three miles, the motorcyclist, Omar Kebbabi, 24, collided with a turning vehicle at the intersection of Route 206 and Jacksonville-Jobstown Road. Kebbabi was pronounced dead at the scene. A grand jury indicted Campagna in June 2025 for endangering another person.
