On 08/31/2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Casa Grande Police Department officers responded to a reported domestic dispute near Brown Avenue and Diamond Drive, immediately south of McCartney Ranch Elementary School. Police identified the man involved as Richard Jess Ramirez, 29.
According to Casa Grande police, officers encountered Ramirez after arriving at the domestic-dispute call and alleged that he was armed with a knife. Police reported that two officers fired their weapons during the encounter, striking Ramirez.
