On August 16, 2021, Inman Police pursued a stolen vehicle. During the pursuit, the car drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 26 and crashed head-on into a Kia sedan near mile marker 14.5. The impact killed Elleana Lee Gaddis, her twin sister Isabella Lee Gaddis (17), and Brianna Lynn Foster (18), all from Fishers, Indiana. A fourth passenger, Macy Walts (17), survived with injuries. Parker fled on foot but was captured and later pleaded guilty in 2024. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
