On 06/06/2025 at approximately 5:11 a.m., Adams County Sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence near Lofton Court and Kokai Circle in unincorporated Adams County, Colorado. Deputies encountered a 51-year-old man armed with a knife outside the home. Deputies attempted to use verbal commands, a Taser, and less-lethal projectiles to subdue him. Despite these efforts, the man allegedly continued advancing toward the deputies, prompting them to open fire. The man was struck and killed at the scene. After securing the area, deputies entered the residence and discovered two deceased individuals, identified preliminarily as the man's in-laws. Authorities suspect the man fatally stabbed them prior to the deputies’ arrival.
