On November 21, 2024, Robert Bex, a 60-year-old male, barricaded himself inside a camper on Panther Lane and Trace Fork Road in Sandyville, Jackson County, West Virginia. The standoff began after Bex fired shots at his wife. Over the course of a 3-hour standoff, law enforcement attempted to negotiate with him. The Volkswagen’s driver and two other passengers were hospitalized for treatment of injuries.

On 11/17/2024, 36-year-old Justin Foreman was killed in a crash on Route 261 in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, during a police pursuit initiated by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. When Foreman did not stop, officers escalated a high-speed pursuit. The chase continued along Route 261 until Foreman’s vehicle lost control and crashed as a result.

Foreman was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the collision. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation. Findings will be reviewed by the Calvert County State's Attorney's Office.

Inside the house, officers found another individual, Chrishawn Tyquese Watson, also deceased from a gunshot wound. Two juveniles present in the home were uninjured. Robinson was reportedly known to one of the residents and was out on bond at the time for prior charges. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is overseeing the independent investigation into the incident, while the involved officer will undergo a critical incident debrief.
