At around 4:00 a.m. on 06/08/2025, Denver Police responded to a fatal crash on northbound Interstate 25 near the 20th Street exit. A Chrysler van had been traveling south in the northbound lanes since approximately 2:59 a.m. due to being chased wrong way by a Colorado State Patrol trooper near Mead. The wrong-way chase through multiple jurisdictions continued until the van collided head-on with another vehicle. The driver was killed at the scene. One passenger from the van and three occupants of the other vehicle were injured. The Colorado State Patrol terminated their pursuit earlier due to public safety concerns, and Denver Police took over the response.
