OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/08/2025, a Colorado State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a Chrysler van near Mead. Jailine Miramontes did not stop and drove southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25. Troopers chased the van wrong way through multiple jurisdictions for several miles. During the pursuit, Miramontes continued driving against traffic on Interstate 25 toward Denver. Although Colorado State Patrol later terminated the pursuit, police continued responding to the ongoing incident as the van traveled through the Denver area. Near the 20th Street exit, Miramontes collided head-on with another vehicle. She died at the scene. One passenger in the van and three occupants of the other vehicle suffered injuries. The Colorado State Patrol and Denver Police Department are investigating the crash.
