On 06/10/2025 around 1:45 p.m., Galveston Police Department officers responded to the Galveston Seawall near 39th Street after receiving a report of a man in distress. According to officials, the man was identified as a 25-year-old resident of Pearland. Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage the man and reportedly gave him verbal commands. Witnesses said they observed him sitting or standing on the seawall and appearing agitated. Police stated that during this interaction, he produced a firearm and shot himself. Officers immediately requested EMS, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
