OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Akron PD chased a Kia they felt may be stolen. Police escalated the chase to above 100 mph until it hit another vehicle. As speeds became extremely dangerous, APD claimed to have called off the chase moments before impact. The vehicle crashed into a pole and burst into flames. Three 18-year-old males were inside and two were rescued. Stephonne Jackson died.
