OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On June 3, at around 1:23 p.m., Pueblo police officers responded to a shoplifting report at Famous Footwear in the Pueblo Crossing shopping center. Antonio Herrera fled the store armed with a firearm, ran toward the Colorado State Patrol office. In an attempt to stop his flight, one police officer intentionally ran over pedestrian Herrera using a marked patrol vehicle. Herrera was immediately administered medical care on the scene but died from his injuries.
