OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 3, 2025, Denton County deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a residence on Chisum Road. Upon arrival, Kenneth Wayne Jones allegedly pointed a handgun at deputies. In response, deputies opened fire and killed Jones. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The Texas Rangers are conducting an independent investigation into the incident.
